The Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum - an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. 50% OF THE WORLD’S POPULATION IS UNDER 27. We are becoming increasingly aware that solutions to our global challenges must purposefully engage youth, at all levels – locally, regionally, nationally and globally. This generation has the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit to shape the future. They are the Global Shapers.

Hub Pillars

To achieve their objectives, the Global Shapers Community in Nairobi works around 3 key pillars

Youth unemployment is a major problem in Kenya. Youth entrepreneurship presents a great opportunity for addressing this challenge. However, young entrepreneurs face many obstacles. One of the specific handicaps the young entrepreneurs face in this regard is in execution of the business function. The hub through various projects, identifies some of this challenges and puts measures to prevent them.

There are several challenges that have been as blocks for attainment of goals and objectives of education in Kenya. Some of these challenges are natural, some financial in nature while others are economically and socially induced. Political challenges also are a major reason why these goals and objectives are still not achievable. How can the nairobi hub shapers affect the education sector positively to address some of this challenges if not all?

Environmental sustainability is an increasingly important issue in Kenya, as those living below the poverty line directly rely on the water and land resources surrounding their communities. The hub through various projects engage with communities to ensure this objective is achieved

Create strong partner channel – Look for partners that are a DNA fit to Nairobi Global Shapers, creating mutually beneficial relationships, equip Hub members   partners for success and scale along new partner channel opportunities.
