Developed and led by young people, Global Shapers are exceptional in their potential, their achievement and their drive to make a contribution to their communities. We are becoming increasingly aware that solutions to our global challenges must purposefully engage youth, at all levels – locally, regionally, nationally and globally. This generation has the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit to shape the future. They are the Global Shapers.
To achieve their objectives, the Global Shapers Community in Nairobi works around 3 key pillars
Youth unemployment is a major problem in Kenya. Youth entrepreneurship presents a great opportunity for addressing this challenge. However, young entrepreneurs face many obstacles. One of the specific handicaps the young entrepreneurs face in this regard is in execution of the business function. The hub through various projects, identifies some of this challenges and puts measures to prevent them.
There are several challenges that have been as blocks for attainment of goals and objectives of education in Kenya. Some of these challenges are natural, some financial in nature while others are economically and socially induced. Political challenges also are a major reason why these goals and objectives are still not achievable. How can the nairobi hub shapers affect the education sector positively to address some of this challenges if not all?
Environmental sustainability is an increasingly important issue in Kenya, as those living below the poverty line directly rely on the water and land resources surrounding their communities. The hub through various projects engage with communities to ensure this objective is achieved
Create strong partner channel – Look for partners that are a DNA fit to Nairobi Global Shapers, creating mutually beneficial relationships, equip Hub members partners for success and scale along new partner channel opportunities.

What have we been upto?
The first and second Biashara Rehab sessions took place on the 13th August 2016 and 17th June 2017 respectively which was attended by Kenyan startup founders in various sectors. During the sessions, the entrepreneurs articulated particular challenges they faced in relation to human resource (HR) aspects of management. The team during their first meeting after elections, came up with their strategy for the year as well as welcoming the new shapers onboard. The new team will be joining in various capacities to build on the UNDA Elimu strategy. They come from diverse backgrounds and we are glad to have them onboard.
The first BiasharaRehab session organized by the Global Shapers Nairobi Hub (the Hub) took place on the 13th August 2016 at the WECREATE Kenya Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
