Technovation

Overview
Technovation is a global tech education nonprofit that empowers girls and families to become learners, creators and problem-solvers. In Kenya, Technovation has a partnership with Safaricom PLC where champions from Safaricom Women In Technology(WIT) help coordinate technovation activities across different regions in Kenya. It is through these connections that Nairobi Hub intends to enroll 16 girls from 5 schools in Kibera to the program.

Over an intense 12-weeks program, girls aged 10-18 identify a problem in their community, create a problem statement, develop a mobile application to address the problem, create a business plan and submit a pitch video to the global competition in April. Safaricom team launched the beginning of the season on 16th January which Cleophas and some of the girls attended virtually.
